But even as these are the shows totally enjoyable, most of the time you also have to choose between one over the other. Despite the similarities in their stories -- both are crime thrillers -- they are competitors. One is a show by Amazon Prime, available only on it. Another is a Netflix exclusive. So, the question is: Netflix or Amazon Prime. And the answer is that for most Indians, despite the quality offerings that Netflix has, it makes more sense to go for Amazon Prime if they can only go for one of these.

Amazon and Netflix are two leading video streaming services in India right now. Both enjoy a good share of userbase and are spending billions in creating exclusive content for Indian users. But let's be honest, both come with a price tag and you wouldn't want to pay two subscription charges for similar kind of service unless you are rich and take your entertainment dose rather seriously. Chances are that you will choose between Netflix and Prime. Both come with their own merits and demerits. 1. Amazon Prime is cheap: Prime is way cheaper than Netflix. You are charged Rs 999 annually and Rs 129 monthly for Prime whereas Netflix's basic plan starts at Rs 500 and goes up till Rs 800 per month. If you are sharing your Prime subscription with three friends then each of you will have to pay only Rs 32.35 a month.
2. Not just Mirzapur, local content on Prime is better: Prime has more regional content than Netflix. You will find Tamil, Telugu, Bangali and similar more regional movies on Prime but not on Netflix. Netflix has a rich library of international content but regional content still needs to grow.
3. Prime has added benefits: Amazon Prime is a bundled service. Apart from Prime Video, you also get host of other benefits like free two-day shipping on Amazon India website, early access to Amazon sales and deals, and more. Netflix is a pure video-streaming platform.
4. You also get Amazon Prime Music: Not just video streaming, Prime also offers music streaming services with its Prime Music. It has music libary across 12 languages - English, Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Malayalam, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, and Rajasthani.

No extra cost for HD or 4K: Amazon does not charge you extra for the 1080p Full HD and 4K Ultra HD resolutions on any of its plans, whereas in Netflix you have to pay for 1080p and 4K Ultra HD video quality unless you go for the Rs 800 plan. For example, with Rs 500 plan you only get standard HD (720p) quality. Also, Amazon lets you stream videos on three different devices simultaneously. With Netflix, you have to pay Rs 800 if you want to stream it on four devices simultaneously.
